Cards are the best memories we have

I love saving cards from family and friends. My husband calls me a hoarder, but it’s the best way to keep the memories alive.   My Mil passed away a couple of years back and  the Christmas cards that I saved were able to preserve memories for my children since they are so young. They added them to our memory book and will cherish them forever.

I live thousands of miles away from everyone in my family, so I receive a lot of online Christmas cards. It’s always fun to show them to the kids when they are animated and move around.  I also print them out and we always have them hanging on the wall by the Christmas tree for the kids to enjoy and to bring in some holiday cheer.   One of my favorite sites to find cards is Storkie.com, they have a wide variety of Christmas cards and even have photo Christmas cards (my favorite).  I love photo cards because they actually give the recipient a true feel of who is sending the card, from the picture.  I know everyone in my family loves them. My mom has all the photo cards I have sent hanging on the wall.

Christmas is still over 5 months away but it never hurts to get in the mood early. Christmas in July!  Thinking of Christmas one of my favorite Christmas card memories was when I was 6 or 7, I had written a letter to Santa. I was  a little skeptical, but a few days before Christmas I received a card back from Santa and it has a little recordable message when it opens. It says: Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas Brandy! I know you’ve been good this year so I’ll make sure your on my special list. Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas!  I was so shocked that Santa sent me a card and it actually had my name in it. I still have that card too, and it still plays.

Summer Reading:Dinosaur Train Lift The Flap Book Giveaway Closed

Summertime is here and what better way to spend the summer with family and friends than on an adventure to visit one of our national parks and/or recreation destinations. July is Park and Recreation Month in the U.S., and the theme for this year’s celebration is “Rock Your Park.” The National Park and Recreation Association wants you to show the country how parks and recreation make your life extraordinary! Whether it is visiting your local park, a playground, swimming pool, or taking a family trip to one of our national park treasures, celebrate our country’s love of the great outdoors this month! Visit the organization’s website to find out ways to get involved: http://www.nrpa.org/jul

Turn your visit into a game with the dinosaur Train Geocache Challenge. Geocache is a family friendly outdoor adventure that blends technology, gaming and enviromental discovery.

To get your children in the mood to go outdoors, I am giving a Dinosaur Train Lift The Flap “Lets Go To Volcano Valley” book from Readers Digest.

Get ready to board the Dinosaur Train and meet some new friends! Buddy, the adorable preschooler Tyrannosaurus Rex, and this adoptive Pteranodon family are always on the move. Today, they are going to Volcano Valley. Along the way, the train is making stops at the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous stations to make dozens of dinosaur discoveries. With more than 40 flaps tolift, kids will want to explore Buddy’s world again and again.

Frank’s RedHot Thick Sauce Review

Frank’s RedHot Thick Cayenne Pepper Sauce gives you the same great taste of Frank’s RedHot Original Sauce, but with a thicker and richer consistency for dipping, spreading or pouring. Frank’s RedHot Thick Sauce is made with a premium blend of aged cayenne peppers that add a kick of heat and a whole lot of flavor onto your favorite foods. Use Frank’s RedHot Thick Sauce for dipping French fries or nuggets, spreading over burgers, or pouring over nachos, tacos

. We got to try out the new Franks RedHot Thick Cayenne Pepper Sauce, it was just as good as the original just easier to marinade.

I tried the Spicy Grilled Chicken sandwich recipe:

4 (5oz)  boneless skinless chicken breasts

1/2 cup Franks RedHot Thick, plus additional for sandwich

4 hamburger rolls

4 leaves lettuce

Marinate chicken in Thick Sauce for 30 min. or up to 3 hours

Grill or broil chicken 10 min. or until no longer pink in center

Serve on lettuce lined rolls and spread chicken with additional Thick sauce.

This recipe actually turned out really good, and kindof tasted like Buffalos famous chicken finger subs.

This was very delicous and easy to make was just a little hot!

Have A Laugh Volumes 3 & 4 Review

Set sail for the high seas of hilarity when Mickey, Goofy and Donald go a-whaling and wind up going overboard – literally! Bark with laughter as Pluto is dogged by a pesky gopher who’s making mincemeat of Minnie’s garden. Then, have a ball with Goofy as he hits the links and – BLAM! – his “relaxing” game of golf goes outrageously awryFully restored and remastered, these amazing cartoons also feature a new “Re- MICKS” – a mash-up music video of crazy cartoon clips remixed to the hit song, “I Gotta Feeling” from the Black Eyed Peas. It’s a novel approach to uproarious classic comedy that’ll make you laugh out loud

Have an outrageously g’day with Mickey and Pluto when their adventure Down Under goes way over the top, thanks to a wayward boomerang and a humongous ostrich. Kick up your heels with Donald as his fireside hula dance “heats up” hilariously. Then, ride a tide of laughs with Goofy as he tries to catch a wave and – BLAM! – gets clobbered by his surfboard.
Fully restored and re-mastered, these incredible cartoons also feature a new “Re- MICKS” – a mash-up music video of crazy cartoon clips remixed to the hit song “Play My Music” from Camp Rock. It’s a bold, new approach to classic comedy that’ll make your spirits soar.

**** These shorts are so funny, they always keep my kids laughing. Donald using rubber cement to make pancakes is hilarious, but our absolute favorite shorts……. are Pluto being badgered by a gopher! These movies are sure to keep your kids happy and laughing all day.

Our 4th Of July Celebration

There is not a lot of Firework shows within an hour drive of us. There are a few outside of an hour like NYC Firework spectacular or a Car raceway, but with the late night fireworks and long drive; We decided against it.

There was a feast and Festival at a local Catholic church/school with Fireworks on Saturday, so we decided to attend that. They had tons of rides and games, although I think majority of Carnival games are a rip off. They had a few kiddie rides for my youngest which was really fun.    It just also happen to be my husband and I anniversary, so it was a fun family day out.

Merry Go Round is always fun and Easy

This picture is bad, but my Husband took my 6 yr old and 5 yr old on the Pirate ship ride that sways back and forth(to the point where it almost flips over).    I had to stop watching after a couple of minutes as I started to cry, because I was afraid one of my babies would fall out.

This again is another bad photo, but I actually got hubby to take a picture with me

Fireworks

We had a lot of fun and celebrated with Hamburgers and hotdogs on Sunday.

Today is more of a relaxed day and we will be celebrating by watching fireworks on TV, since we have work tomorrow.

HAPPY INDEPENDANCE DAY
