I was recently able to have a little party with some neighbors, and show off some of the newest and greatest Leapfrog products.
While only half of the people showed up on my guest list (To be expected since Pediculus humans capitis has hit our school). We still had a blast though.
The first product I featured and couldn’t wait to get too.
Tag Reader
I love the tag reader, now that my daughter is in Kindergarten and learning how to read, It’s so helpful. The tag reader is not only reads you the story, It helps with sounds and you can play games with it.
Now the That Reader can also be used with the interactive map.
The Interactive map helps with Learning about the world. The kids knew instantly where we lived by identifying the big picture of the Statue Of Liberty.
Next we talked a little about different books that were available, including books with your favorite characters. I also passed out booklets with coloring sheets and $5 coupons for Leapster games (very rare coupon).
The big reveal of the Leap Pad was exciting for everyone. A lot of the parents complained that their kids loved to use their I Pads and smartphones to play games. This is a great alternative for kids and a lot cheaper than a I pad.
The App the kids most got a kick out of was the Funny Face app. Take a picture, the expand the nose, or forehead. All the kids were just cracking up over that.
A big thank you to Mom Select and Leapfrog for allowing me to show my neighbors all about these exciting products. I think I have enticed some parents to go out and get these products themselves.
visit www.leapfrog.com for more information nd to view the products.

Kids can create dozens of pumpkin designs with this kids crafting kit! Includes 12 patterns with instructions, 12 foam stickers, 8 eye and teeth inserts, 1 kid-friendly DuraSaw, 1 Scraper Scoop, 1 Poker, 1 battery operated light, and 1 crayon.
Every year I let my kids decorate a pumpkin for Halloween, It’s part of our craft time. This year we received a Pumpkin Masters carving kit, Pumpkin Masters Light and reflective stickers.
**My kids decided to make the bugaboo pattern. They left the cleaning the pumpkin out to me though.
The pattern was a bit difficult to carve out, and considering last year I went through 3 carving knifes; We let dad step in a finish the design. The kit worked out good, and their are so many designs to choose from that, we will be using this kit again next year. The poker did end up snapping while I was trying to remove the lid though.
The light makes it look so cool at night, it lights up the pumpkin and even blinks.

Halloween is coming up and having 3 young children I know how stressful it can be to take them out trick or treating.
here are some tips shared with me to have a good time:
Wear comfortable shoes: The Disney heels are nice but keep in mind your child will be walking around a lot.
Easy on the candy: No candy should be eaten until you get home, or the next day if it’s late. Your child doesn’t need to be on a sugar high.
Skip scary houses: Scary houses, door bells that make noise, people waiting to scare you, is going to make your child upset and maybe give them nightmares.
Wear bright colors: It’s going to be dark and if you dress your child in black , there is a big chance of them getting in an accident. Also wear reflectors.
Go through Candy: It’s hard to think about but people will give kids poison and other things. Go through the candy and get rid of anything that is open or unsafe. It is also good for kids to not eat sticky candy, it gets stuck in the teeth. Chocolate is better.
Adult supervision: Kids under the age of 13 should not go out alone. It’s unsafe.
Tips were shared by Pr Agency, I just tweaked them a bit. No compensation was received for this post.

I am on a weight loss mission, and keep breaking my routine. Luckily there are a lot of everyday chores that can be done in fall weather that burn calories.
Raking Leaves: Raking leaves doesn’t need to be a household chore. You can make it a family activity. Tighten your biceps and triceps when raking; switch your leading arm once half the yard is done. This works your upper body. If you want to expand to work your legs, lunge backwards alternating legs with every leaf-raking motion.
You can burn 200-350 calories
Jogging with the dog: Grab your pooch and hit the road—literally, hit the road. Aside from being your best friend, a dog can be the best running partner. If your running partner needs a break—don’t stop. Keep jogging in place. To up the ante, you can do jumping jacks or high knees as you wait.
You can burn 200-400 calories per hour
Picking and lifting Pumpkins: When hitting the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkin to carve— pick a five, ten and fifteen pound pumpkin. And, don’t be so quick to grab those carving tools. Pumpkins can easily be used as weights. Hold the fifteen pound pumpkin in both arms in front of your upper abdomen area, and rotate your body from right to left. Substitute that medicine ball for a pumpkin! The lighter pumpkins can act as weights to strengthen those arms.
You can burn 150-500 calories per hour
