We are Learning About Women This Month

March 7, 2012

March is Woman’s History Month, and my kids have been learning all about different woman in history. One of their favorites they have both learned about is Amelia Earhart. She was the first woman to fly around the world, and the first woman to fly solo across the pacific ocean.

In Honor of Amelia Earhart my daughter dressed up like her, it is so cute.

It’s Cold Outside, but We Still Go To The Park

February 21, 2012

This winter has bee unusual for Long Island, we have had one snow day all winter. Lately we have had mid 40 degree weather, which is not bad. So we have been taking the kids to the park lately.

Even though it’s chilly the kids still enjoy themselves!

I love This Preschool Work

January 30, 2012

I recently bought a dry erase activity book to help my 4-year-old learn to write his letters and numbers. We can’t afford preschool so we will be teaching him at home.

I just love this activity book, you can write over and over again since it is dry erase, and there are east traceable lines.

I think he did pretty good for his first time. He ha declared to me that he loves learning though and I am so proud of him.

First Snowfall of Winter

January 24, 2012

It’s been really weird this winter, we have not had any snow at all. It has actually been really warm in Long Island. Well we finally had our first snowfall on Saturday , we got about 4 inches of snow.

The kids still got to have a lot of fun.

A couple days later now all the snow is gone and it is in the 50′s again.

New Year, New Challenges

January 1, 2012

Am I going to call them New Year Resolutions? No! Mainly because they always get broken. Instead, I’m going to just put myself to the challenge of new things, for this new year. Last year I tried a lot of these and failed.
New year though and I am determined.

1. Quitting soda, I am a sucker for soda and it’s been very hard to break. I am determined to break this habit.

2 Weight loss- This is something I have struggled with for a couple years now. This year I want to reach my goal and keep it off.
my goal of 35 lbs. Hopefully by Blogher 2012

3. Expand my Blog and biz, while I don’t think I’ll be one of these bloggers getting 50,000 visitors a month, having at least maybe 20 K would be nice.

I would love to be able to go to more events this year and make a lot of money on my blog. I don’t see it happening, my husband is still in college, working on his PHD and that is my #1 priority. Making sure he succeeds, and I have to stay with the kids all the time. Which is okay by me, because it seems like whenever I am away, I miss a shining moment in their life.

So here is to 2012, I don’t want to change my life. Just make it better for my kids.

The Aftermath of Christmas

December 27, 2011

My house was a total disaster after Christmas, toys, clothes, paper etc. everywhere.

This was only a little part of the house.

My house stayed like this all Christmas and most of the 26th. There was just to much stuff and not enough organization. So I braved the crowds for after Christmas shopping and bought a Closetmaid bin organizer, on sale at Target for $39.99.

We have had one for a long time, but needed to as another, yes we just have that many toys. Plus I wanted to be able to put some books in the living room, as well as some other toys.

So today , I put the kids to work with me. Hubby is at work. We took down the tree today and got to cleaning.

The end result I am very satisfied with.

Now if I can just keep it like this until New Years. After all my mother always said, a dirty house on New years is a dirty house all year. LOL

Santa Was Too Good

December 27, 2011

Well “Santa” came, even though my kids are still confused on if he is real. I told them the truth, but the movies and their friends say otherwise.

Santa came and he was way to good to the kids.

and the back of the tree

The kids apparently got everything that they wanted!  they each had about 27 presents each, between santa, family and friends. That is about 80 presents, that is crazy.   I told them, next year we will go on vacation and do 1-2 presents.
