Bop It! Review

April 13, 2011

Get ready to react fast! Turn on the Bop It game unit and get ready to bop, pull and twist your way to victory. For even more of a challenge, activate the microphone and shout it, too! Choose to play alone or invite your friends for a game of Party Bop-you’ll all have to use your knees, elbows, and hips to win! The better you get, the more skill levels you unlock, so think fast and be the Bop It master!

I have had a lot of fun playing with this toy, at the same time its takes a lot of focus.  You can play the regular version or shout it. I think regular is easier my high score was 25.

Retail: $22.99 but you can find on Amazon for $14.09

My rating: 8

Great Gifts For Easter: Princess Celestia

April 11, 2011

Princess Celestia is a magical and beautiful pony who rules the kingdom of Equestria. All of the ponies in Ponyville look up to her. Help your Princess Celestia  pony figure rule her kingdom! This beautiful, electronic pony figure has all kinds of things to say to you, like I will light the way! and Lets fly to the castle! When you two are ready to soar, press the button to make her wings light up and move. Comb your princess friends pretty purple and pink ringlets and put in her barrettes to help her majesty always look her best and rule with justice and beauty!

I was first introduced to Princess Celestia at the NY Toy Fair(well besides my daughter seeing the commercials,).

We recently received this and my daughters are so excited. Princess Celestia is so beautiful, she can talk and her wings light up.  You can brush her hair and even design it with the hair accessories included with the pony. My kids were a little disappointed that the wings don’t move constantly. When you push the button on Princess Celestia she talks, lights up and her wings move once all at the same time.

Retail: $19.99

Great Easter Gifts: Go Go My Walkin Pup

April 7, 2011

From neighborhood strolls to playing in the park, there’s nowhere your loveable puppy doesn’t want to walk with you! While you two are out exploring together, he’ll make barking sounds and wag his tail to show you how much he’s enjoying his walk.

This is the perfect alternative for those that want a dog but no mess to clean up. My daughter has wanted a dog for a long time, but my husband is against it. He doesn’t like the mess or noise. Go Go walks, barks, is cute and cuddly, just like a real dog.   I was a little worried, I read reviews online and a few people had said that after a few days the dog stops working. We have been playing with it for days and it still works great. We have not tried it outside yet though, the weather has been bad. All  Three of my kids love it. Now this may be too big to fit in an  Easter basket, but I’d rather her have one big toy and a few candies then an overload of toys.

Pros:

  • Fun for kids
  • Actually walks and responds
  • no doggie mess to clean up

Cons:

  • Leash is hard to unplug
  • Turns on his own at times

Go Go does not walk well on carpet, dirt, grass and gravel. It has to be tile, hardwood floors or smooth sidewalk.

Retail: $59.99 at Hasbro Toy Shop

My Rating:8

Great Gifts For Easter: Chuck’s Big Aire Dare DVD and Playset

March 31, 2011

Chuck The Dump Truck and Flip The Race Truck meet for the first time. Each truck shares his special talents. Chuck is great at lifting and building. Flip can race fast and do incredible stunts. Competition sparks, and the trucks challenge each other to a contest. Chuck creates a stunt course and tries to do better tricks than Flip. Flip builds a tall tower and tries to climb higher than Chuck. In the end, the trucks learn a valuable lesson: they need each other to succeed. Will the trucks become friends? Find out in this action-packed adventure!

We love chuck, he is so much fun. My son watches him on the hub everyday. In this movie Chuck meets Flip and they compete against each other. Chuck actually seems to be a little jealous that Flip can do things he can’t, but in the end they become friends and realize no one is perfect at everything. The movie package also comes with your own miniature Chuck toy! William can’t wait until a Flip toy comes out, he is super excited that Chuck has new friends.     We also received some Chuck car toys, a book set, sticker book, and Chuck cookie cutout.  William just went crazy over everything, he has become so attached to everything and won’t even let his sisters come near them.  Chuck is character to have a party with or even just to have a playdate.

Retail:$9.99 for the movie

March 25, 2011

We love the Hub, they play classics I grew up with and new ones my kids love.  They have unveiled their new line up for the upcoming year.

New series for the 2011-2012 year.

The Aquabats Super Show-From the creators of “Yo Gabba Gabba” comes this quirky comedy adventure show featuring the popular rock band The Aquabats. A hybrid of concert footage, live-action skits and animation, the Aquabats battle evil with music and superhero powers unlike any seen before. The Aquabats are a touring band with five albums currently released.

Blythe Loves Littlest pet Shop-Inspired by the beloved “Littlest Pet Shop” brand, Blythe moves to the city and discovers that her new apartment is where her neighbors’ pets come to play when their owners are away. In this animated series, Blythe befriends the pets and introduces them to a world of adventures just outside their door.

Clue-Inspired by the iconic family game brand, this live-action series features six teens who are brought together when they believe they’ve witnessed a terrible crime. As a team, they discover conspiracy theories and cover-ups dating back centuries! They must work together to solve one mystery, only to realize that they may have opened a Pandora’s Box.

The Game Of Life-The live-action family game show “The Game of Life” will be presented in an entirely new way as each family team gets a chance at the iconic spinner and hops in the car for a one-of-a-kind journey through a larger-than-life virtual world. Hosted by comedian Frank Nicotero

Kaijudo: Rise of The Dual Masters-In this animated series inspired by the wildly popular trading card game, “Duel Masters,” a 14-year-old boy discovers a secret world in which mind-blowing creatures rule! These creatures harness special powers that if unleashed, could destroy the world as we know it. It is up to the boy to master his abilities in the ancient art of Kaijudo to protect their world and his own.

Majors & Minors-This groundbreaking reality series follows 16 talented young performers as they are mentored by the biggest and most established artists in the music industry.   While no one is ever voted off, one lucky “star-in-the-making’ will claim the final prize of a recording deal with the RCA/Jive label group and an opportunity to be featured in a cross-country concert tour.   Among the musical artists already scheduled to participate are Leona Lewis, Jordin Sparks, Sean Kingston and Ryan Tedder (of One Republic). From Evan Bogart, the songwriting hit-maker for music stars Rihanna and Beyonce, and top TV producers Tim Bogart and Gary A. Randall, the series is produced by The Boardwalk Entertainment Group in partnership with Sony Music’s RCA/Jive Label Group and BMI.
